There are some wonderful storefronts on West 23rd Street in Manhattan, with wonderfully colorful signs, but until the scaffolding comes down, I can't do them justice with my camera. Here's a taste of the wonderfulness.
i've always wondered why so much scaffolding in nyc? and fishing tackle seems funny, where do you fish in manhattan? your photos of storefronts are very fun to look at! ~phin
Two reasons I know for scaffolding: To fix facades of buildings (a lot of old buildings tend to have bits crumble and fall as they age) and as part of clearing out stuff from a vacated loft or office space during renovations.
As for fishing, there are plenty of places. We've got a lot of shoreline and a lot of piers. I don't know how healthy the fish in the rivers are, tho. And some folks head out for Long Island or take boats out.
