Ah...a close up. You know, I think I find these most fascinating because of the work it takes to create them and so many structures, particularly public ones, are so bland and unimaginative.
P.S. Still not sure when about my visit. I think it is definitely happening though, probably not for two or three months though. My Uncle has to have surgery and I want to hit NY on my way.
I did mosaics when I was in school and I know how difficult they are to do well (which I wasn't all that good at), so I really appreciate the ones in the subway which are so nice.
As for the visit, just let me know when you know and we'll see if we can make a meeting happen. :)

I love tile work, I hope they never remove the mosaic in the subway if & when they renovate.
ReplyDeleteMany of the subway renovations have included restoring and adding to the mosaics, so I think they're safe, for now at least. ;)
