Help me choose what to get. I finally got my retro pay and can afford a dslr. Do I stick with Canon, same as my point and shoot, or do I get a different brand? If you'd like to make a suggestion, leave it in the comments. Thanks.
I'm a Canon girl... I had a Canon p&s so when I upgraded to DSLR I stuck with Canon. My p&s had a manual mode that was similar to the Canon DSLR's so it was familiar and comfortable for me. I have the XSi. It's been good!
I am not a digital camera user (I still use film) and for the past twenty years or so I have always used Canon SLR cameras (A1, AE1) and now I own and use three Canon T90s.
If I was you and could afford a DSLR then I would go for a Canon (at least 10m mega pixels). A friend of mine as a Canon D400 I think and it takes decent images.
